The RISTA II (reconnaissance, infrared surveilance and target aquisition) passive infrared airborne imaging system was successfully demonstrated on an unmanned aerial vehicle during flights at the U.S. Army's Camp Roberts. The wide-area reconnaissance sensor system developed by Northrop Grumman's Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector sent real-time infrared imagery and location data from the UAV to a ground station and then dispatched selected imagery and data in near-real time to military and government agency observers in Virginia.
