Optical-metrology-systems manufacturer Nanometrics Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) reported FY1996 (ended December 31) revenues of $30.3 million, up 33% from the $22.8 million reported for FY1995. Net income for the year was $4.0 million, roughly double the $2.0 million in income for 1995. Fourth-quarter revenues for FY1996 reached $8.0 million, up 15% from the $6.9 million; income for the quarter was $1.2 million, nearly double the $650,000 reported for fourth-quarter 1995. Nanometrics produces metrology systems for the semiconductor industry.
