17 Jun 2002

A man in Alabama, US, has been found guilty of shining a spotlight into the cockpits of approaching aircraft.

He was arrested for shining a hand-held spotlight to sabotage military flights on three different occasions, his intention being to divert pilots away from his property and onto the flight path.

However,US Air Force pilots testified that the light made it difficult and dangerous to land.
