Wafer-based micro-optics attracts investment

Digital Optics Corporation, of Charlotte, NC, has collected USD 10 million in its recent round of funding. The US company makes wafer-based micro-optics and integrated micro-optical systems for OEMs in areas such as telecommunications and lithography. The latest investment will be utilized towards building a new fabrication facility and hiring additional personnel.

Investors include Carolinas Capital, Intel Capital, Intersouth Partners, and Wakefield Group.
