E-TEK Dynamics to acquire ElectroPhotonics Corporation

E-TEK Dynamics, Inc. (San Jose, California) and ElectroPhotonics Corporation (Toronto, Canada) have reached a definitive agreement for E-TEK to acquire ElectroPhotonics. Shares of E-TEK common stock and cash worth about $40 million will be exchanged for all outstanding ElectroPhotonics stock. ElectroPhotonics' expertise in fiber bragg grating based solutions will provide E-TEK with additional technology, especially for its thin film filter DWDM components.
