EG&G Astrophysics, L-3 to supply explosives detection system for Rome airport

The EG&G Astrophysics division of EG&G, Inc. (Wellesley, Massachusetts) and L-3 Communications (New York, New York) will be providing explosive detection systems, training, and support to Aeroporti di Roma. The airport in Rome will receive ten EG&G Z-scan dual-view automatic screening systems, which will be integrated into the airport's baggage handling systems, and seven L-3 eXaminer 3DX 6000 explosive detection systems, which will be used at Level 2 and Level 3 for final inspection. The eXaminer 3DX 6000 computer tomography systems will be the first use of those L-3 units in Europe.
