Three-Five Systems to develop and prototype LCiD display for radar detector

Three-Five Systems, Inc. (Tempe, Arizona) has received an order from Whistler Corporation (Chelmsford, Massachusetts) to develop and prototype Three-Five's LCiD technology in a display model for a radar detector. The LCiD provides a backlit crystal display but has higher information content and contrast than an emissive LED and can be read in sunlight. Whistler plans to incorporate the LCiD technology into its new model introductions in 1999.
