Thiokol Propulsion wins night vision infrared flare contract

The U.S. Army Industrial Operations Command has awarded a contract to Thiokol Propulsion (Brigham City, Utah) for more than 8,800 M-278 infrared flares which can enhance night vision by a factor of four. The 29-inch flare serves as the standard flare for the Hydra-70 tactical rocket system and will improve night strike capability for the Army.
