Lockheed and Delft sign memorandum on targeting system

17 Jun 2002

Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems and Delft Sensor Systems of Belgium have signed a Memorandum of Agreement regarding the manufacture and sale of the Close Air Support Integrated Targeting System (CITS). Lockheed will provide the system software integration while Delft will use its mini-laser portable rangefinder in the CITS, produce the night vision electro-optical sight, and integrate the system in its factory outside Oudenaarde. The CITS, which is used by air traffic controllers on the ground for accurate and timely targeting data, consists of an optical sight, an electronic cojmpass, a laser range finder, a global positioning system, a laptop computer, and a radio.
