The Amsterdam Advanced Air Traffic Control system at the Schiphol International Airport has been put into operational service. The Raytheon-developed system, which integrates radar and flight plan data and displays the information to air traffic controllers in a logical and easy-to-read manner, allows 1000 flights to be handled simultaneously and displays information on 33 high-precision controller displays. The system also contains a separate multifunctional simulation and test system which can be used for training, research, and procedure evaluation. The flight data processing and simulation software for the system had been produced in collaboration with Indra-ATM.
