FDA expands Cell Robotics Lasette clearance for diabetics

The Food and Drug Administration provided clearance to Cell Robotics International Inc. to market its Lasette laser finger perforator for all adults in clinical settings,including diabetic patients. The approval of the hand-held battery operated laser device, which produces a small hole in the finger for blood collection with a singlepulse of laser light, is the FDA's first approval of this procedure for diabetics.
