The Seattle Mariners weren't able to take advantage of the Padres' pitching problems when the team was in San Diego July 2-3, but they were able to take advantageof San Diego-based Princeton Video Imaging. On a two-game experimental basis the Mariners ran electronically inserted advertisements behind the home plate areaduring the first six innings of the games. Four advertisements, three featuring the Mariners' logo and one for Airborne Express, were rotated.
