Monroe CC to train optics technicians

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has selected Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, as the first community college to train technicians inoptical fabrication. LLNL will deploy equipment, tools, and consumables to the college for the program which will start this September. The Monroe CC curriculawill serve as a model for a distance education program to supply trained optics fabricators to the nation's optical manufacturers.
