Sony Electronics has sold four DXC-9000 cameras to the Connecticut Department of Transportation for use in the agency's photolog research and operationsactivities. The progressive-scan video cameras will be part of a system to capture a "driver's-eye" record of the state's 7,000 lane-miles, which will be used formaintenance, measurement and administration. The DXC-9000 allows Connecticut to convert from a film-based system to a laser disk format, saving the state'staxpayers an estimated $73,000 a year in film costs.
