Sharplan launches hair-transplant laser

17 Jun 2002

Sharplan Lasers (Allendale, NJ) has formally begun marketing its SilkTouch laser for use in hair-transplantation procedures. According to the company, the SilkTouch is the first and only laser to be granted FDA marketing clearance specifically for use in hair transplantation.

According to surgeons who have used the laser, the SilkTouch delivers precise, high bursts of energy that cleanly create holes small enough to transplant a single hair. Bleeding is significantly reduced, shortening the procedure time as compared to conventional treatment methods. In addition, patient discomfort is minimized and a more natural and smooth- looking result is obtained.
