Balzers doubles capacity

Balzers Process Systems (Hudson, NH) recently renovated its facilities, thereby doubling its capacity and adding a 30,000-sq ft cleanroom for the final assembly of C4 semiconductor-packaging equipment. The upgrade was finished just as the firm received a sizable order for its new digital-videodisk (DVD) manufacturing module from Warner Advanced Media Operations (Olyphant, PA), which will develop new hybrid data-storage products combining the capabilities of DVD and CD technology.

Balzers additionally has acquired a majority interest (51.4%) in Axtral (Grenoble, France), a holding company for Nextral and Addax (Grenoble, France) etching and micromachining manufacturers.
