Litton Industries Inc. has finally emerged as the new parent for systems integrator PRC Inc. The systems integrator had labored for years under the doubtful synergies of belonging to toolmaker Black & Decker Corp.
But Litton, unlike Black & Decker, sees PRC as a strategic asset. Fueled by an aggressive acquisition plan, Litton has outlined infotech as a strategic market as the Woodland Hills, Calif., company slowly decreases its reliance on the declining defense business. The $3.3 billion company generates about 70 percent of its revenue from defense contracts.
