PHOTON Recherche Industrie opens for registration

03 Jun 2009

PARIS, 2 June 2009 – The Association Française de l’Optique (AFOP) is proud to announce the launch of an all-new industry event dedicated to the optics and photonics sectors. The first edition of PHOTON Recherche Industrie (PRI) will be held in Reims France on November 18 and 19, 2009 in conjunction with the annual Club CMOI and FLUVISU events which equally coincide with the annual meeting of the Société Française de l’Optique (French Optical Society – SFO).

"PRI is the idea born from a series of meetings between French optics and photonics industrials who saw the necessity for an event truly dedicated to their industry," notes Samuel Bucourt, president of the AFOP. He continues by adding: "In order to best respond to the needs of our industry, the yearly event will coincide with the annual meeting of the SFO, alternating yearly between Paris and Province."

PRI brings a new dimension to industry events by offering exhibitors the opportunity to participate as partners by adhering to the "Pack Communication." Partners benefit from enhanced exposure with their logos on the event’s marketing materials and a virtual boutique on the PRI website.

Although the inscription for partners, exhibitors, and visitors officially opens today, the event has already drawn significant support from the French optics photonics community. Currently, the event counts BFi OPTiLAS, Elucido Partners, HORIBA Scientific, IDIL Fibres Optiques, Imagine Optic, Optique J. Fichou, OPTOMASK, OPTOPRIM, Quantel, Route de Lasers (a renowned optics cluster located in Aquitaine), and SphereOptics.

The event will be held at the easily accessible Reims Centre de Congrès (45 minutes from Paris by car or train). The Centre offers 2,500 square metres of exhibition space, with 9 and 18 square metre stands available for exhibitors.
