Olaf Meyer joins Metrolux as marketing director

GÖTTINGEN, GERMANY – Olaf Meyer joins Metrolux as its new Marketing Director where he will provide additional strength to this growing software and optical systems development company which is already highly regarded in both industry and scientific research.

Olaf Meyer accepted the position as Director of the Marketing and Sales division at Göttingen's high-tech enterprise Metrolux Optische Messtechnik GmbH. He strenghtens the eleven man team which specialises in software development and optical systems component fabrication for laser measurement devices.

Dipl.-Ing. Olaf Meyer studied applied physics with a focus on laser, optics and holographic applications at the university of applied sciences in Lübeck. After two years abroad as a sales engineer for a Scottish firm, he then began his studies in international marketing in 1994. In subsequent years he continued to work as a sales engineer with LINOS (formerly Spindler & Hoyer) in Göttingen. Additionally he provided independent marketing consultative services while working as regional sales director for OWIS in Staufen.

As a business-oriented engineer in the position of markteting director, Olaf Meyer will be able to respond precisely to the demands of our customers," reasons Dr. Carsten Fischer, managing director of Metrolux regarding the engagement of Mr. Meyer.

Software, as well as products and services provided by Metrolux have been enthusiastically received worldwide in industry and scientific research. As an example, Metrolux is able to measure the homogeneity and the quality of laser beams, which are used in surgery requiring advanced medical technology such as "The Optical Scalpel", which provides high speed measurement devices that provide microand nanometer precision. Metrolux was founded in 1995 in Göttingen. Contrary to general export marketplace realities and worldwide business conditions, Metrolux is projected to realize visible export growth in 2009. Metrolux has not only increased its distribution in the german speaking market place (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) but also in international markets, especially in Korea and Japan. At the moment Metrolux is urgently in need of qualified software developers.
