Optical component manufacturer Edmund Optics of Barrington, New Jersey, in the US, has acquired Plummer Precision Optics (PPO) of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. PPO will become a wholly owned division under the name Plummer Precision Manufacturing Division.
PPO concentrates on the custom manufacture of precision optical components, opto-mechanical assemblies and coatings.
According to John Stack, president of Edmund Optics, "The new division will serve as the perfect complement to our Tucson Design Center, which currently provides Edmund Optics customers with advanced lens and system design. In addition, the new flexible coating capabilities will place Edmund Optics as a worldwide leader in supplying off-the-shelf and custom-made optical components."
