Colorado MicroDisplay Inc (CMD), of Boulder, CO and Hana Microdisplay Technology Inc (HMTI) have announced their first supply agreement in which HMTI will manufacture, assemble, test and package CMD's microdisplays at their facilities in Twinsburg, OH.
CMD says that this agreement will enable it to deliver up to 500,000 displays per year. These displays have applications for headsets and viewfinders in the mobile Internet, mobile computing, entertainment and digital imaging markets.
HMTI's manufacturing team has been developing and manufacturing microdisplays for over 3 years and have been working with CMD since early 1999 to bring their products to mass production.
The term of the agreement is three years and includes expansion options for the HMTI Thailand and China facilities as demands warrant.
