Canadian government funds new Centres of Excellence

The Government of Canada has issued a call for applications to establish new Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCEs) that will enhance research in engineering, genomics, the environment and child development. The Government has allocated CAD 13 million (approximately USD 9 million) for this year's competition.

University researchers and their private and public sector partners are invited to present innovative strategies in Letters of Intent by 1 May 2000 and invited applicants should submit full applications by 2 October 2000.
