Tech-X Corporation (Boulder, Colorado) has received a Phase II Small Business Technology Transfer Research award from the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research for a project titled "Object Oriented PIC Code with Upgraded Physics and Platform Independent GUI". The Phase II research, in collaboration with the Plasma Theory and Simulation Group of the University of California at Berkeley, will upgrade the C++ application XOOPIC (X11-based Object-Oriented Particle-In-Cell code) and design the electron tubes needed for next-generation radar and satellite communication applications as well as porting the existing GUI to a cross-platform toolkit.
