VLSI, Yozan to develop WCDMA baseband integrated circuit

Yozan, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan) and VLSI Technology, Inc. (San Jose, California) have reached an agreement for the joint development of a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) integrated circuit for the next generation mobile communications system. Yozan will supply a chip-set combining the matched filter and rake receiver technologies for WDCMA while VLSI will supply the baseband integrated circuits.
