European authority approves Agfa acquisition of Sterling Diagnostic Imaging

The European antitrust authority has approved the transaction in which Agfa-Gevaert N.V. (Mortsel, Belgium) would acquire the parent company of Sterling Diagnostic Imaging, Inc. (Greenville, South Carolina). The decision follows the approval of the U.S. antitrust authority. Agfa will acquire the entire business of Sterling Diagnostic, which employs about 2,000 people worldwide and provides X-ray films and processing systems, except for the companies handling the Helios and Direct Radiography product segments.
