EMCORE Corporation (Somerset, New Jersey) has shipped a Discovery 180 MOCVD production system to Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., Itami Works (Hyogo, Japan). The TurboDisc high throughput production system will be used by Sumitomo to grow advanced long-wavelength infrared indium gallium arsenide phosphide semiconductor materials which will operate within the 1.35 micron to 1.55 micron range.
