EMCORE, OPTEK form new company for magnetoresistive sensor products

EMCORE Corporation (Somerset, New Jersey) and OPTEK Technology, Inc. (Carrollton, Texas) have formed EMTEK SENSORS L.L.C. to manufacture and initially market seven new packaged sensor products based on magnetoresistive technology and to develop additional products as the market warrants. EMTEK will utilize EMCORE's semiconductor strengths and OPTEK's optoelectronic, magnetic, and fiberoptic sensor expertise to improve functionality and design flexibility of current products and develop new products for emerging markets.
