LightPath wins $750,000 award for WDM development

17 Jun 2002

LightPath Technologies, Inc., has received additional U.S. government funding to supply the current element of the next generation of wavelength division multiplexing devices which will increase data, voice, and video carrying capacity of fiber optics. The $750,000, two-year contract is a joint project between LightPath, Radient Research, Inc., and the University of Texas' Microelectronics Research Center. The second phase work will test the limits of maintaining the required wavelength tuneability along with providing the rugged optoelectronic packaging required.
