LaserPower receives $165,000 in SBIR Phase I contracts

Laser Power Corporation has received two Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts from the U.S. Deaprtment of Defense. One contract is for the integration of an external modulator into Laser Power's T-2000 1550 nm high-power, low-noise telecommunications microlaser and to explore the use of that device for dense wavelength division multiplexing applications. The other contract is for the initial design of a microlaser illumination system for high-resolution, LCD-based helmet and head-mounted displays. The two contracts have a combined value of about $165,000.
