Thermo Vision acquires Optovac for transfer to Hilger Crystals subsidiary

Thermo Vision Corporation has acquired the Optovac, Inc., division of EM Industries. The acquisition provides infrared salt crystal manufacturing capability for Thermo Vision, which will transfer the growth and processing equipment, along with its inventory, to its Hilger Crystals Ltd. subsidiary in Margate, England. Hilger Crystals manufactures salt crystals for infrared applications such as beamsplitters, laser protection windows, and IR cell windows and manufactures scintillation detector materials which convert x-rays and gamma rays into light photons which can be collected by optical detectors.
