GEC-Marconi, Northrop partner for infrared countermeasure system

GEC-Marconi Avionics has joined Northrop Grumman in a partnership to pursue business from a directed infrared countermeasures system designed to counter a new generation of surface-to-air missiles that take existing infrared countermeasures into account. The companies are producing and testing the DIRCM under a contract from the UK Ministry of Defence and the US Air Force Special Operations Command.(Courtesy Laser Focus World)
