Japan approves first holmium laser

Coherent Medical Company's 80-watt VersaPulse Select holmium laser has received approval from the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare to beused for medical purposes in Japan. The approval is the first by Japan for a holmium laser. MC Medical Company, a subsidiary of MistubishiCorporation, is Coherent's licensee to sell the lasers in Japan.
