Coherent buys English firm

Coherent Inc. has signed an agreement to purchase Ealing Electro-Optics, an English firm, for a cash price of $9.5 million. Ealing Electro-Optics will become part of Coherent's optics division, headquartered in Auburn, California, while the facility in Watford, England, will remain open and continue work on optical design and assembly.
