Labsphere publishes technical note on textile analysis

Labsphere, Inc., has published a nine-page technical note (including one page for a table of contents) highlighting the SPF analysis of textiles using Labsphere's UV-1000F Ultraviolet Transmittance Analyzer. The document discusses the geometry of the optical system with respect to measuring diffuse transmittance and the optical design's response to fluorescent fabric additives. The Labsphere UV-1000F Ultraviolet Transmittance Analyzer is designed to measure UV transmission of dry textiles as a means to determine their ultraviolet protection factor and operates by measuring the diffuse transmittance of a fabric sample as a function of wavelength in the UV spectrum.
