FDA smiles on CO2 whiteners & brighteners

The Food and Drug Administration has approved Ion Laser Technology to market a CO2 laser for whitening teeth. The company say approval for its argon laser, also used in the procedure, was expected shortly. ILT plans to open laser whitening centers during the first quarter of 1996.

The FDA has also cleared Israel's Laser Industries bid to market its compact Sharplan diode-laser system in the USA for general surgery, urology, and gastroenterology. Plans call for deliveries to begin during the first quarter of 1996.
