Herbert Schwind & VISX enter patent agreement

Herbert Schwind (Kleinostheim, Germany) has entered a patent-license agreement with VISX (Santa Clara, CA) to use VISX patents in its Keratom excimer-laser system for photorefractive vision correction. The arrangement covers all countries, except the USA, where Pillar Point Partners licenses the technology. Schwind has a global-distribution agreement with Coherent (Santa Clara, CA) for sales of and service on the Keratom systems.
