Fortino to manage Tencor metrology

Dennis Fortino has been named vice president and general manager of Tencor's (Mountain View, CA) metrology division, which has grown more than 130% in the last two years. The division represents about 16% of overall company revenues and includes surface profilers, film-stress measurement, and wafer-characterization products. Semiconductors represent about half of the division's business.

Previously, Fortino was with Spectra-Physics Lasers for four years where he served as vice president and general manager of the Laser Systems Business Unit.
