BancTec banks $17 million in imaging systems orders

BancTec Inc. in Dallas received orders in Europe and the United States valued at more than $17 million for image-based document processing systems. Orders were received from Bankenes Betalingssentral A.S., a Norwegian giro processor, to implement a large-scale document image scanning, archival and retrieval system at its Oslo central processing site and at five regional sites. BancTec also received orders from Sears Roebuck and Co., First Interstate Bank, GTE Communication Systems Corp., Commerce Bank of Kansas City and General Electric Capital Corp. for image-based payment processing systems.
