Jenoptik and Dagesh form joint venture

18 Mar 2009

Jena - March 17th 2009: JENOPTIK OptiSys Ltd. will supply opto-mechanical modules to Israeli clients in the semiconductor and security industry.

The joint venture, JENOPTIK OptiSys Ltd., will combine the experience of the Israeli firm of Dagesh in the field of mechanical production as well as in module development and design, with the comprehensive expertise of Jenoptik's Optical Systems division in optical and mechanics design, optical measurement and testing technology and system integration. In the future both partners will utilize synergies between their development and design areas and complement their optical and/or mechanical production on a reciprocal basis. Dagesh and Jenoptik will each hold 50 percent of the new company which was formed on March 16, 2009 in parallel with the Hi-Tech trade fair in Tel Aviv.

As a systems company, JENOPTIK OptiSys will supply clients in Israel with the design, assembly, alignment and testing of complete integrated modules. A final function test of the opto-mechanical modules will form an integral part of the assembly process. The main clients come from the semiconductor manufacturing industry as well as the defense and security business.

For the assembly and comprehensive quality control for the systems and modules, Jenoptik and Dagesh will make a joint investment in a cleanroom production environment in Israel designed to meet the stringent demands of the semiconductor industry. The joint venture, to be established in the immediate vicinity of the Israeli clients, will guarantee closeness to the client and direct contact with simultaneous access to the highly specialized development areas of both Jenoptik and Dagesh.
