The clear aperture is greater than 90% on all faces. Surface quality is 40/60 and the maximum path length difference is ±4 nm.
Avicon X-Cube prisms are intended primarily for mixing narrow-band light sources to produce white light or to combine images from devices such as reflective LCDs in projectors, but they can also be used as light splitters. Avicon X-cube prisms with appropriately spaced bands can be stacked to allow addition of more than three sources anywhere in the 350 to 1100 nm band. |
