11 Dec 2007 New product line from asphericon - Standard Precision Aspheres quickly available with extraordinary performance and ideally suited for high power laser applications Jena, Germany – (June 19, 2006) – Beside their core business of making customized precision aspheres, asphericon proudly introduces a new product line – Standard Precision Aspheres (SPA™ or SPA®). For the first time ever in optics, asphericon now offers a complete range of off-the-shelf aspheres which are provided at exceptional quality levels. These SPA™ are manufactured by CNC grinding and polishing operations in order to achieve the asphericon quality and combine it with volume production savings. These SPA™ are available in a range of diameters from 6.0 to 100.0 mm, are primarily made in a high index material with low dispersion, and offered with three different standard coatings. The designs are suitable for many applications, from laboratory free-space prototype setups to OEM applications including high efficiency light collection and high power laser focusing or collimation. All SPA™ are directly available from stock and can be the ideal solution for many needs, or a quick way of testing a concept and defining the perfect custom lens.
Key Benefits
1.Precision polished SPA™ deliver exceptional performance
2.Low f/d's allow optimum light gathering and focusing performance
3.Precision polished SPA™ have superior surface roughness in comparison to molded lenses
4.Low dispersion materials decrease chromatic aberrations
5.Precision polished SPA™ have a superior energy beam distribution
6.For diameters larger than 15mm Corrected Transmitted Wavefront is typically 20-50 times better than for molded lenses
7.Delivery off the shelf
8.Automatically recorded measurement reports available
