11 Dec 2007 Filter design ahead of it’s time: 3rd Millennium filters combine patent pending, hermetically sealed assembly using Omega® Optical proprietary ALPHA Technology. The results: superior spectral performance and longer filter life. Optical instruments can now incorporate a high performance off-the-shelf filter as the foundation for optimised performance. ALPHA technology utilises precise and steep cut-on and cut-off slopes, producing slopes that are 10 times steeper than industry standard Fabry Perot designs giving: improved transmission, better blocking and higher signal to noise.
At the heart of each 3rd Millennium filter is the patent-pending filter holder. This hermetically sealed mount holds filter components to exacting specification, eliminating optical epoxies. 3rd Millennium Filters therefore effectively incorporate ALPHA Technology utilising optimised soft dielectric coatings and deliver a precise spectral performance. The results: lower auto-fluorescence, improved transmitted wavefront and improved heat tolerances.
SPECTRAPLUSTM is a triple band-pass interference filter, that enhances colour and improves overall spectral performance for visible wavelengths. These filters are designed for use with digital imaging sensors (LCXB29) or the human eye (LCXB30). The optimised coating allows for pure red, green and blue colour transmission, while blocking intermediate wavelengths in the UV and NIR. SPECTRAPLUSTM offers accurate hue, enhanced saturation, increased signal-to-noise, and improved modulation transfer function.
These filters are applicable to a wide range of systems and applications, are available at highly competitive prices, with a wide range of filters held in stock and lead times of ~ 1-2 weeks. LASER COMPONENTS deliver both standard and customised solutions to a large customer base from single to volume OEM enquiries.
