11 Dec 2007 Continuously emitting single-mode quantum cascade lasers are now available at LASER COMPONENTS under the product code SPECDILAS-QCW-XXXX-GMP.
The operating temperature of these DFB lasers is 77 K. The operation of cw QCLs at a low temperature as opposed to room temperature is advantageous to their life expectancy. The output power is 20 mW at 7.7 µm or 50 mW at 5.2 µm. These lasers are particularly interesting because their line width is, according to theoretical estimates, only some 10 kHz.
