Daniela Mattheus appointed Chairwoman of Jenoptik Supervisory Board...

...and Lumentum chooses Thad Trent to join its Board of Directors.

At its meeting on December 19, 2025, the Supervisory Board of Jenoptik AG, unanimously elected Daniela Mattheus to be its Chairwoman with effect from December 30, 2025. In accordance with company procedures, Mattheus was elected for the remainder of the term of office of outgoing Chair, Matthias Wierlacher, i.e. until the end of the 2026 AGM.

Mattheus is a professional supervisory board member and has served on Jenoptik’s Supervisory Board since 2023. The firm stated, “She has gained extensive expertise in her professional career, particularly in the areas of corporate governance and transformation, sustainability, accounting and auditing.

“Being a lawyer and management consultant, she brings her extensive experience into memberships of supervisory boards and audit committee chairs at various, also listed companies, such as Commerzbank AG and Deutsche Bahn AG.”

Mattheus herself commented, “I would like to thank all members of the Supervisory Board for the trust they have placed in me. Being born in Thuringia [the state that is home to the company’s headquarters in Jena], I feel a special connection with both the region and Jenoptik. I am therefore even more delighted to be able to lead our highly experienced Supervisory Board team.

“Together with the Executive Board, we will accompany our technology group on its continued path of profitable growth. On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Matthias Wierlacher for his many years of intensive and dedicated work in the Jenoptik Supervisory Board,” she said.

Approximately 4,500 people worldwide work for the Jenoptik Group. The company is listed on the German Stock Exchange in Frankfurt and traded on the SDax and TecDax. In fiscal year 2024, Jenoptik generated revenue of around € 1.12 billion ($ 1.32 billion).

Lumentum appoints Thad Trent to Board

Lumentum has announced the appointment of Thad Trent to the San Jose, CA-headquartered company's Board of Directors, effective immediately. His appointment expands the board membership to nine members.

Penelope Herscher, Chair of Lumentum’s Board of Directors, said, “Trent brings a wealth of expertise in corporate finance, M&A activity, in-house manufacturing and process efficiency that is mission-critical to our future. I am confident his valuable insights will accelerate the execution of our long-term strategy, helping us drive growth and deliver sustainable shareholder value.”

Trent said, “Lumentum's portfolio of foundational optics is vital for the significant build-out of artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure. I look forward to collaborating with the senior leadership team and the rest of the Board to ensure we capitalize on these significant opportunities and build lasting value for our shareholders.”

Trent also currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of onsemi, a role he has held since February 2021.
