Getting Moore out of politics

The Optical Society of America (OSA) has announced that its new Senior Science Advisor is Dr Duncan Moore. Moore is the outgoing Associate Director of Technology in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. "This announcement signals a watershed in OSA's Washington DC presence. Duncan has three years of White House policy-formulation experience and is a seasoned academic and entrepreneur. Our efforts on behalf of optics will take a step up to the next level," said John Thorner, OSA's executive director.
