Coherent opens lab to test new laser diode applications

Coherent's Semiconductor Group (CSG) has opened a new commercial applications laboratory to enable customers to see how Coherent's laser diodes might meet their application needs. The new laboratory will be located in Santa Clara, CA and will be headed by Tony Hoult, the applications manager.

"There are many applications for diode lasers where precise quantities of heat can be generated with sub-millimeter accuracy. The opening of the new applications laboratory demonstrates CSG's commitment to emerging direct-diode laser applications," commented Hoult.
