The Optical Society of America (OSA) has elected Anthony M. Johnson as its new vice president. He will become president in 2002. The society has also appointed Peter P. Clark, David Miller, and Margaret Murnane to three-year terms as directors-at-large.
The new officers have research backgrounds in ultrafast optical and optoelectronic phenomena; optical components and the investigation of surface-relief diffractive optical elements; quantum well optics; and x-ray science.
