Venture funding announced for Microcosm

Microcosm Communications, based in the UK, has received investments totalling USD 5.5 million from its second round of venture funding. The investments, by the UK's 3i Group, Vertex Management Group of Singapore and Pond Venture Partners represent an acquisition of 17.1% of the company.

Microcosm develops custom-designed integrated circuits for telecommunications applications.
