Companies collaborate on holographic data storage

17 Jun 2002

Lucent Technology and Imation have signed a joint agreement to develop holographic data storage technology.

The two US companies intend to develop memories that can store up to 125 gigabytes on one removable disk. Holographic storage promises 100 times the storage density of magnetic disks and gives much faster access to data.
