Philps, Sony, Sun collaborating on audio-video technology

Philips Royal Electronics (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Sony Corporation (Tokyo, Japan), and Sun Microsystems (Palo Alto, California) have announced a collaboration to connect the home audio-video interoperability architecture (HAVI) with Sun's Jini technology. The companies plan to link digital electronics appliances over a network to allow appliances to access remote network services and allow users to operate AV appliances remotely across a distributed network.
